The External Engagement Team is responsible for managing the External Examining process and overseeing the quality of the University’s Collaborative Partnerships. The External Engagement Team is also managing the University’s record of, and relationship with, Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies.

Cath joined Swansea University in 2005 as a Study Abroad co-ordinator in the American Studies department. In the role, Catherine worked with American Studies students to prepare them for their intercalary year and managed the experience of visiting US students to Swansea. In 2010, Catherine moved to the International Development Office, where she had responsibility for coordinating the study abroad experience of students on programmes with an international component. Catherine moved to her current role in Academic Quality Services in 2013. As a Quality Development Officer, she has quality oversight of collaborative partnerships. She also leads the External Engagement Team which manages the University’s External Examiners’ systems. Catherine’s commitment to developing the opportunities for international education connects all of these roles and her work meshes well with her passion for travel and world cultures.
Cath has the oversight of the University Collaborative Partnerships, as well as the relationships with the External Examiners, Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies.
Sian joined Swansea University in 2002 and worked in a number of roles in the College of Human and Health Sciences (now Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science), including the Student Office, Postgraduate Office, Admissions, Assessments, and Placements, before joining the College’s Quality team in 2013. In the Quality team, Sian supported the development and approval of new programmes and modules, including accreditation by relevant professional, statutory and regulatory bodies. She was also responsible for the quality assurance of the taught programmes, and management of student cases (including fitness to practise, appeals and academic misconduct). She moved to her current role in 2023, and is currently working on the development and quality assurance of domestic collaborative programmes and transnational education. She is also the AQS faculty partner for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science.
