In 2019 the University joined other UK HE institutions in declaring a climate emergency and committing to being net zero (for scope 1 and 2 emissions) by 2035.
To achieve these stretching decarbonisation goals (for scope 1 and 2 emissions from our buildings), we've been working with the Carbon Trust to develop a comprehensive Swansea University Decarbonisation Action Plan, which has identified multiple interventions throughout our Estate over a 12 year period.
Changes will be implemented in a phased approach, tackling both campuses.
