Evidence Informed Practice
This module enhances learners¿ insight into research and evidence informed practice by building on previous knowledge and contextualising research to paramedic practice. The module reflects the pace of change illustrated within the wider health care setting and the need for continuous review of practice to meet the growing demands, expectations and importance of providing care informed by the best available evidence. The module offers learners an opportunity to critically examine an area of practice, conduct a critical appraisal of the literature and formulate concise practice led questions.
A key aspect of this module will be the opportunity for learners to understand the impact that research has had on practice within Wales and the wider UK. This will be facilitated by members of the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust, who have undertaken research and created change based on the best available evidence. This opportunity will enable learners to understand the research process from conception through to study design, outcomes and impact on practice, delivered by those directly involved in the research. The module will be supported by e-learning.
