Public Engagements
Over the past years, Dr Abdallah has established several industrial links with Rolls-Royce plc, Airbus, McLaren Racing, Liberty Steel, TIMET, ETD alongside the advanced forming research centre (AFRC) and the advanced manufacturing research centre (AMRC). Recently, Tata Steel Europe is the main collaborator through the various projects on which Dr Abdallah is now working and he is the key link individual with other industries such as WearTech, Wall Colmonoy and Cogent in terms of projects and collaborative funding.The work involves consultancy as well as collaborative projects where students from all levels (BSc, MSc and PhD/EngD) are involved.
Dr Abdallah has also established links with other academic institutions including (but not limited to) Strathclyde, Nottingham, Newcastle, Cambridge, Warwick and Birmingham Universities. Dr Abdallah is in charge of students’ recruitment within the Steel and Metals Institute (SaMI), collaborations and supervision of students at the Gower College alongside outreach activities at schools around Swansea area to attract youngsters to Materials Engineering at Swansea University
