Budapest’s central location in Europe makes it the gateway to destinations in all directions; from the warm Mediterranean in the South, to the bustling cities of the West or the chilled terrains of the North. Known as the ‘Pearl of the Danube’ due to the River Danube running through it, Budapest is deemed to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and you will experience a continental climate – cold winters but warm summers! The capital of Hungary, the official language of Budapest is Hungarian but there is plenty of English spoken and teaching is in English. With its’ affordable cost of living, multicultural vibe and great student life, Budapest is a popular destination for exchange. Corvinus is an internationally recognised institution in both education and research, and is renowned for business and economics.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.

Important information
ACADEMIC YEAR: Runs from September to June.
COSTS: The cost of living in Budapest will vary depending on the accommodation you select and your lifestyle. More information on the cost of living can be found here.
VISA: You will need a residence permit to study at Corvinus. Your host university will provide more information about the process and will issue your acceptance letter that you will need for your visa application. The residence permit, issued as part of the visa, must be collected within 30 days from the time of entry to Hungary. More information will be provided by Corvinus during their Orientation session.
ACCOMMODATION: On-campus accommodation is not offered at Corvinus but there are off-campus accommodation available. Corvinus will provide information to students when completing the online exchange student application.
HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase health insurance before your arrival to Hungary. Students taking any medication regularly should make sure that they will have access to it during their stay in Hungary.
