The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is located in Mumbai, India and is a world renowned and highly ranked science, technology and engineering institution. Known for it’s green, lakeside campus it offers students a unique study abroad experience.

It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.

Spaces are not guaranteed, can be limited and all students on a semester/year abroad programme are subject to a university-wide, competitive selection process.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR: Runs from July to August.

COSTS: The cost of living in Bombay will vary depending on your chosen accommodation and your lifestyle.

VISA: You will need to apply for a Student Visa before you depart for India. Students should not apply for a Tourist Visa. IIT Bombay direct you to the Government webpage for more information. 

ACCOMMODATION: On-campus accommodation will be provided for exchange students upon arrival, subject to availability. 

HEALTH INSURANCE: You will need to purchase mandatory health insurance for your time at IIT Bombay before you depart for India.
