Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins, at the base of the southern Rocky Mountains. There are numerous activities to get involved in during your stay, including 325 student organizations and 34 honour societies. Whether you would prefer to try a 55-foot climbing wall in the Student Recreation Centre, write daily news for the Rocky Mountain Collegian, join one of the many fraternities and sororities, or get involved with the student government, intramural sports, and campus radio station, there is something for everyone. There have been many mascots over the years but currently CAM the Ram, who was named during a basketball game half time is now the beloved mascot. Colorado State has 16 Division I NCAA sports and thousands of Ram Fans. Join the Ram Ruckus student spirit and take advantage of the free tickets available to full-time undergraduates.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.
Who can study here?
Swansea has a ‘university-wide’ partnership with this university which means that it is open to all subject areas except for Classics, Early Childhood Studies or Law.
Spaces are not guaranteed, can be limited and all students on a semester/year abroad programme are subject to a university-wide, competitive selection process.

VISA: You will need a J-1 exchange visa to study at Colorado. As part of the visa application, you will need to evidence financial support which meets the requirement of US$20,400 for the year. This is based on the estimated cost of living and does not include holiday travel and entertainment costs.
To apply for a visa, you will need to pay a SEVIS fee of approx $220, an appliction fee of approx $185 and $175 SEVIS University Fee students pay every semester at Colorado State University. In addition, you should factor in the cost of attending a visa interview at the US Embassy (typically in London). ACCOMMODATION: On-campus accommodation is available and usually includes a meal plan. Aggie Village is a popular school-sponsored, on campus apartment complex for exchange students. On-campus housing is extremely competitive and students are encouraged to complete their application as early as possible to secure a room. More information on accommodation deadlines will be shared by the host university as part of the application.
HEALTH INSURANCE: You will be required to purchase mandatory health insurance for your time at Colorado. You will be automatically enrolled in the CSU Student Health Insurance Policy and will be charged the fee to your Colorado account. More information can be found here.
