The University of Houston (UH) is a state research university and flagship institution, its campus spans across 667 acres in southeast Houston, Texas. The UH is notable for its diverse student body, and is ranked by the U.S. News & World Report, as the second-most ethnically diverse research university in the United States. Based in a large metropolis with a growing international community, locally you’ll find Space Centre Houston offering interactive displays engineered by NASA, which is also why Houston has officially been nicknamed “Space City”. You will also find the Museum of Fine Arts showcasing work by well-known Impressionist and Renaissance painters, and the Theatre District, which offers 17 blocks of restaurants, shopping malls, parks, bars, and live music. The University of Houston has more than 400 student organizations and 17 intercollegiate sports teams; the men's golf team has won 16 national championships—the most in NCAA history.
It will not be possible to complete a year abroad at this University if you have any assessments, such as supplementary or deferred exams, during the August assessment period at Swansea University.
