Swansea University's Social Work BSc (Hons) and Social Work MSc degrees are based in the School of Health and Social Care, which offers social care qualifications and is Wales’ largest provider of healthcare education.

What does a Social Worker do?
Social workers make a positive difference to the lives of people and communities in in need of care and support. You will work with people who use services and carers to find out what matters to them and together work out how they can achieve their goals. You will work with a range of groups including children and families, older people, young people and adults with learning differences, foster carers and adopters, and many more.
You will also work in partnership with other agencies and professions, including local authorities and the third sector, schools, police and others, to ensure that adequate care and support is provided.

Students accepted to study onto a Social Work degree or Social Work masters are eligible to apply for the Social Care Wales Social Work Bursary to help fund their studies. More information on the application process and the bursaries available can be found here.
WHAT CAREERS COULD BE OPEN TO ME WHEN I GRADUATE?
On graduation you will be eligible to register as a qualified social worker with regulatory bodies within the UK.
