As a CyberFirst ambassador, Sara Correia is part of the National Cyber Security Centre’s CyberFirst education programme, which aims to foster the next generation of cyber professionals in the UK. Her responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues at Technocamps (Swansea) and the National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC), liaising with local schools and industries, raising awareness of the CyberFirst programme, and educating students about the risks and opportunities in the cyber domain. A key focus of her work involves promoting careers in cyber to girls and young women.
Sara’s involvement has led to a range of initiatives, such as delivering interactive sessions to young people, supporting local schools in achieving a CyberFirst accreditation, and promoting Cyber clubs in schools, in partnership with the PGCE teaching team at Swansea University. The feedback received from colleagues and young participants has been overwhelmingly positive.
In addition to official CyberFirst activities, Sara has also developed and delivered independent outreach initiatives that align with the programme's ethos, including organizing workshop days for local primary schools and sessions at various educational conferences.
