Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
I chose to study at Swansea University because of the course module. I believe that the modules provided in Swansea University fits my aspiration the most. Besides that, the location of the university by the beach. Even though I am studying zoology, I am also interested in the marine world. I take that with the location of the university by the beach, there will be a connection with my course and the beach such as field trips by the beach.
Can you tell us about your course and what do you enjoy the most?
I am interested in animals since I was young and hence decided to pursue my studies in a related subject. In my course, zoology, not only I have to learn about animals, but I also have to be all rounded and to know about the plants, ecology, and chemistry. I enjoy the most during the last semester when animal behaviour was thought because I am truly interested. Besides academic enjoyment, I am happy to meet new friends in this virtual circumstance. Me and my friends mostly met in lab sessions which are also fun to attend.
What are your three favourite things about Swansea?
The first thing would be the people in Swansea. People in Swansea I have met is kind and friendly and this does not apply only to the staff in the university. People off-campus are also willing to help in trivial things. I had an experience with a lady helping to pick fresher grapes which is considered weird to me, but it is warm when you think back to the moment. Besides that, the facility in the university is one of my favourite things. The university has a COVID-19 testing centre at the Taliesin Arts Centre on campus which is useful for travelling students. The last thing is the service provided by the university. As an international student, there is quite some things to sort when we reach Swansea such as the BRP and student card. The staff were helpful and helped me to sort out these important details quickly.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other international students?
Of course, I would recommend Swansea University to other international students. I had a nice time here in Swansea and I would like to share it with others as well. However, I would recommend them to think twice if Swansea is suitable to them or do they like the modules provided in the course. All things aside, I will recommend strongly that international students to come to Swansea University.
