About The Role

Swansea University are seeking to appoint a Research Officer to work in EPSRC Programme grant STRIP5 (Swansea TATA Research and Innovation Prosperity Partnership for Printed Perovskite PV). We are looking for a motivated candidate to lead the real world performance evaluation and perovskite device materials related research activities within the group. The work will be focusing on the development of the processing, scale up and large-area manufacturing of perovskite photovoltaics with associated lifetime evaluation testing. The work will include fabrication of industrially viable and stable large-area perovskite along with design, set-up and running of long term stability measurement systems. The main task will consist in developing processes and instrumentation for roll-to-roll manufacturing of long-lived perovskite modules on flexible substrates.

STRIP5 is a EPSRC prosperity partnership program between Swansea University and TATA steel featuring an industrial collaboration and strong cohort presence in Swansea Universities SPECIFIC IKC. The appointed Research Officer will take a leading position in the research team featuring a cohort of 6 PhD studentships and post doc researchers scaling the commercial viability of perovskite photovoltaics from flexible film to flexible steel substrates.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
