As part of a partnership agreement between the IISTL and Kennedys, I worked as an intern in the marine insurance department of Kennedys in the summer of 2023. With almost 2 decades of sea experience, I embarked on this educational journey with the goal of deepening my understanding of maritime law and its practical implications, and Swansea University has exceeded my expectations in every way.
Swansea University's commitment to providing a well-rounded educational experience was evident through various opportunities they offered during the program. Trips to P&I clubs and law firms in London were eye-opening experiences that allowed us to network with industry professionals and gain firsthand insights into the legal aspects of maritime practice. These experiences helped bridge the gap between theory and practice, enhancing our understanding of the field.
Furthermore, Swansea University's dedication to its students extends beyond the classroom. They maintain strong connections with employers actively seeking emerging talent from the cohort. Throughout the year, they consistently shared various job opportunities with us, offering a remarkable chance to secure employment even before completing the LLM program. This proactive approach to career development is a testament to the university's commitment to the success of its students.
