It was a wonderful experience, and I am grateful that I was positioned in an “FPSO Room” where a partner and an associate were handling matters involving FPSOs and other related vessels.
I received in-depth exposure to day-to-day work and practice. I was given tasks to analyse a FSO Charter contract, drafted legal advice on the termination of a WRECKFIXED 2010 contract and provided a legal opinion on proposed amendments to the Good Supply contract. The lawyers provided guidance and feedback on the work submitted to them which I find very useful for my future practice.
I must commend their internship programme, it was well structured, organised and full of practical insights. The firm arranged a meeting for us with a marine manager who explained, inter alia, how ship arrest was conducted from the technical and practical aspects. We also participated in a High Court proceedings talk held by the firms’ knowledge development lawyer.
I found my internship at Stephenson Harwood very rewarding and practical for my future career.
