Launched in partnership by TriTech Institute and Healthcare Technology Centre
The £80,000 Health and Social Care Technology Challenge is a free, online event that brings health and social care professionals and academics together with digital and technology industry partners to solve challenges from across the health and care system in Wales.
The Challenge is a collaboration between TriTech Institute and Swansea University's Healthcare Technology Centre, which is part of the pan-Wales Accelerate programme.

The challenge will culminate in a two-day, online event in September, where teams will be created, ideas generated, and a pitching event will take place for applicants to win a share of the £80,000 funding pot to bring their solution to life. The prize pot is funded by Hywel Dda University Health Board and matched by time-in-kind by the Accelerate Healthcare Technology Centre through bespoke support, pending the eligibility of partners.
Here is how the challenge works:
We are looking for innovators to submit a solution to a set of challenges set out by the panel.
Anybody is welcome to submit a solution to identify a team of collaborators, all we need you to do is submit a solution to one of the challenges via our online portal.
We will then contact successful applicants and you will present your solution/idea on day one, Tuesday 14th September. It is then up to you to find collaborators, assemble your team, and solve the challenge before presenting your final solution a week later, on Thursday 23rd September.
We have the challenges, and we are looking for the solutions.
Don’t miss this opportunity to collaborate with NHS and industry partners to develop solutions or new products that can make a positive impact to the Welsh health and care sector.
