The Swansea Science Festival, the largest Festival of its kind in Wales!

The Swansea Science Festival returned with the main event on the weekend of the 26th and 27th October 2024, at the National Waterfront Museum and Taliesin Arts Centre.

Over 6,000 people attended the festival, which kicked off with a pre-weekend highlight at the Taliesin at Swansea University, featuring 'The Magical Mr West' and his enchanting performance, Crafty Fools. The grand finale showcased the much-loved CBeebies TV presenter Andy Day with his exciting show, Andy’s Dino Rap.

Throughout the weekend, everyone enjoyed over 40 FREE exhibition stands and bookable shows, some demonstrating the groundbreaking research at Swansea University.

Visitors explored hydrogen energy, met robotic dogs and cats, uncovered the secrets of ancient Egyptian mummification, and even learned how to love a maggot! Weekend highlights included a science rap workshop with presenter Jon Chase, insightful talks with TikTok star Big Manny, renowned explorer Ray Mears, and wildlife TV presenter Megan McCubbin.

Every year, the festival shows that science can be fun for all ages whether you’re making, exploring, or discovering.
