The University-wide Research Week, September 11th to 15th, 2023 was a great success! The week-long program comprised of a rich variety of events and workshops designed to engage and inspire participants from all faculties and staff members.

CISM Semiconductor IRI (Interdisciplinary Research Institute) Symposium	The symposium consisted of four research sessions representing the following themes: Ionics & O-the-H (What could this be?) Bio-Nano & Sensing (When we will be entirely monitored) Efficient Power Electronics (When cars and planes and heating will be electric) Clean Energy Systems (And the nature will be safe) Each session consisedt of a talk from senior and junior researchers with an exciting panel discussion at the end of the day!
Research Ethics: What is it and should we care?	Presenters: *Prof Carlos Garcia De Leaniz, Ethics Lead* This talk explored some of the emerging issues in research ethics, from AI to research on animals and ways to make our research trustworthy.
The Research Publication Policy; Retaining your Rights	Presenters: *Research Support, The Library* This session focussed on the changes and updates Swansea university will be making to its policies concerning Open Access and Research.
IP Support	Presenter: *Mark Barber*
Overview of UKRIs new JeS “TFS”	Presenter: *Julie Griffiths, Senior Research Development Officer (FSE); Dr Emma Chapman, Bid Writer (FSE)*
Shut Up and Write	*REF Team* Struggling to find time to give to your Research? This session was aimed at those needing a dedicated time and space to focus on their writing.
Lego Metadata for Reproducibility	Presenter: *Rebecca Kelleher, REF Officer* The LEGO® Metadata for Reproducibility game is an interactive game for 4-24 players, using LEGO® to help researchers explore the metadata they might need to record to aid reproducibility.
Taith Research Mobility	Presenter: *Rebecca Kelleher, REF Officer* Taith offers PGR students and staff at Welsh universities a range of mobilities, across all disciplines, to partner institutions across the globe for research collaboration opportunities.
Health RI – Imaging	Presenter: *Prof Sophie Shermer*
Rapid Motion Through Space: An Incomplete History of Speed (film followed by panel discussion with film makers)	Official opening of Research week with introduction by Prof Paul Boyle, VC and Prof Helen Griffiths, PVC* Research, Innovation and Impact* Rapid Motion Through Space: An Incomplete History of Speed is an original feature documentary film from The Cosmic Shambles Network.

Impact Lecture Series
PGR Posters	Swansea University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) awards for outstanding postgraduate researchers’ whose work shows excellent potential to make and IMPACT outside of Academia. The first prize awardee received: £500 towards conference fees There were also 2 runner up prizes to the value of £300 and £200 respectfully.
ECR Videos	Swansea University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) awards for outstanding early career researchers whose work shows excellent potential to make an IMPACT outside of Academia. The first prize awardee received: £15,000 towards developing the Impact from their research There were also runner up prizes to the value of £1000.
Research Exhibits	Tthe Taliesin hosted an exhibition of the broad range of research taking place around the University.
Welsh Research Network	Lawnsiad Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Cymraeg Abertawe. Launch of the Welsh Research Network.
