Callum Chapman, High Performance Coach
Callum is Head Coach of the Swansea University Ladies 1st hockey team. He is a FIH Level 2 Coach with additional GK Coach, technical skills and umpiring qualifications. Callum has coaching experience from his time with Club de Hockey San Fernando (Spain), Oxford Brookes University as well as being a performance pathway coach for Hoci Cymru and previously for England Hockey. Additional to his coaching role within the Swansea University Performance squads he acts as a link with the Swansea Hockey Club, who play within the Women’s England Hockey National Leagues.
Away from coaching Callum has playing experience within English and Spanish National leagues, Super BUCS as well as junior international caps. Callum is a current graduate entry medical student at the University and is still playing for Swansea Hockey Club.
Joseph Jones, Strength and Conditioning Coach
Joe designs, delivers and monitors strength and condition provision for focus athletes and sports clubs at Swansea university. Joe has an MSc in strength and conditioning and a wide range of experience in the field. Experience which started with an internship in Swim Wales, working closely with commonwealth and Olympic athletes. Joe has also spent part of his career in Los Angeles working with a university with multiple DIV 1 sports and he is currently part of the Welsh lacrosse strength and conditioning department. Alongside being a strength and conditioning coach, Joe is an international paddle board racer and in 2024 was the national sprint champion. Joe is passionate about high performance and helping athletes achieve their goals.
