About

Aidan completed his BSc Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) degree at the University of Aberdeen and completed his PhD on the role of Itch E3 ubiquitin ligase in receptor signalling and endocytosis at Queen's University Belfast before joining Swansea University Medical School as a lecturer in Medical Pharmacology in 2018. He is now the course Director for our Medical Pharmacology degrees.

Aidan has served as a Trustee (Early Career Pharmacologist) and Chair of the Early Career Pharmacologists Advisory Group within the British Pharmacological Society. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with interests in inclusive curricula and was elected as a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society in 2022, being the youngest Fellow since the Society was founded in 1931.

He is a founding Principle Investigatory of the Swansea Worm Integrative Research Laboratory (SWIRL) where his research focuses on in vivo models for education and research using Lumbriculus variegatus.

Teaching Interests

Aidan is the Programme Director for our Medical Pharmacology degrees and module lead for several modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level with a primary focus on pharmacology and toxicology.
