Career Highlights

Teaching Interests

Dr Roberta Magnani teaches a variety of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is particularly interested in teaching medieval literature in the context of the manuscripts in which these literary traditions circulated. Her teaching harnesses innovative learning and assessment methods, such as blogs and student-led projects, to introduce students to the richness of medieval literary culture, from manuscript illuminations to poetic tropes. The dialogue between past and present plays a central role in Dr Magnani’s teaching, as she applies contemporary literary theories (especially gender theories and queer theories more specifically) to the study of medieval texts.
