Dr Bethan R Thomas gained her Medical Engineering degree (BEng) in 2010, where she acquired knowledge of electronic, mechanical and chemical/bio-engineering principles. She then went on to complete her PhD in diagnostic technology as part of the Centre for NanoHealth at Swansea University, focusing on the biophysical properties of blood clots and immunology.
Since her PhD she has worked as a researcher on a number of large grants including, EPRSC Healthcare Impact Partnerships and later as a named researcher on the EPRSC Platform grant in Engineering Blood Diagnostics.
Bethan has a diverse portfolio of research and development for SME’s and multi-national companies, as well as, various collaborations with clinicians, pharmacists and healthcare professional. Her experience includes blood rheology, novel analyse of biocompatible materials and microelectronic fabrication and testing.
