About

My interest in applied linguistics developed through my work, mainly in South Korea, where I lived and taught for many years. My time as a doctoral researcher at the University of Oxford allowed me to add theoretical knowledge to this practical foundation. My research focus is on the use of corrective feedback for the development of grammatical accuracy in second language learners’ writing, with particular interest in learners who are in required courses of English study in their home contexts. At Swansea University, in addition to continuing the line of research on second language writing and feedback, I also supervise dissertations and theses and teach undergraduate and postgraduate TESOL courses in the Department of Applied Linguistics.
