About
Jess has previously worked with invasive brown trout in the Falkland Islands as part of her research at Swansea University and the South Atlantic Environmental Research Institute. Her PhD project used a combination of techniques including eDNA, acoustic tagging, stable isotope analysis, and SNP analysis. She is passionate about tackling invasive species and conserving native fauna as her PhD aimed to provide conservation managers with information to minimise impacts of brown trout on native species. Previously Jess worked for North Wales Wildlife Trust on the Wales Resilient Ecological Network (WaREN II) project to establish a framework to tackle invasive species in Wales. Jess is currently working as a Technician within the Bioscience Department.
