The SwanSim initiative started in 2016 with the aim of enabling access to the state of the art capability simulation tools developed within the Zienkiewicz Centre for Computational Engineering (ZCCE). In order to accomplish this, SwanSim is responsible for:

  • The coordination the release of a number of the simulation products developed in-house as open source software, licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
  • The development of a Web Based Simulation Environment (WebSim) which provides access to the in-house capability in a user-friendly and cost effective manner.

The first product to be released under SwanSim is the suite of FLITE Mesh Generators. This was chosen as mesh generation provides the basis for many different types of computational simulation.

Over time, the full range of capability developed within the ZCCE will be released.
