Michelle joined the Hilary Rodham Clinton School of Law in August 2021, having previously been a Lecturer at Middlesex University London. Before entering academia Michelle practiced law including at the International Criminal Court and as a public defender in the United States.
Michelle holds a BA in Political Science (Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania), a JD (Villanova University, Pennsylvania), an LLM (cum laude) (Utrecht University, the Netherlands), and a PhD (Middlesex University, London). Her PhD thesis on the presumption of innocence was published by Routledge in 2021 as The Presumption of Innocence in International Human Rights and Criminal Law.
