About

Dr Jing Wang is a Lecturer in Multifunctional Sustainable Composites in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Swansea University. She had been a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, cooperating with Prof. James A. Elliott (Head of Department), Prof. Paul Dupree (Department of Biochemistry) and Prof. Jonathan M. Cullen (Department of Engineering) for the UKRI-funded project of Smart Sustainable Packaging Films from Plants (S2UPPlant, NERC). She obtained her master (2018) degree in Advanced Composites and doctoral (2022) degree in Sustainable Energy Nanocellulose supervised by Prof. Stephen J. Eichhorn in Bristol Composites Institute at the University of Bristol, closely collaborating with Prof. Magda Titirici at the Imperial College London. Her research area focuses on developing sustainable, natural plant-derived nanocellulose composites for aerospace/mechanical engineering applications (e.g., interleaving, interlaminar toughening), next-generation energy storage technologies including sodium/potassium-ion batteries and sodium-metal batteries, and smart sustainable packaging multifunctionality.
