Sian's experience

Sian, a Law student, spent four weeks in Busan over the Summer.

"Busan was a life changing experience; from the incredible people I met, to the ability to experience a culture which I've admired for a long time, I would do anything to revisit. I was lucky enough to receive Turing Funding from the university, which enabled me to not have to worry about how to finance the trip. Instead, I got to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. We learnt culinary skills, completed Korean language exams, culture trips, and even got to go on a private boat tour. I think going to PNU will forever be one of my favourite memories."

Nicole and friends in South Korea

Nicole's experience

Nicole, who studies Computer Science, spent four weeks in Busan.

"I chose to participate in the PNU summer program in South Korea because I believed it would be the experience of a lifetime, where I would be able to explore a brand-new country with new customs and outlooks. I got to experience things such as a K-POP dance class, making pajeon (Korean pancake), stamp seal carvings and a taekwondo lesson. For the field trips on Friday we went to various places like the Busan National Centre for Korean Traditional Performing Arts where we saw a silent Korean play. I have gained lifelong friends and I was also able to develop my Korean skills from conversing with locals."
