The University of Vienna's Summer School is located in the picturesque village of Strobl in the Salzkammergut region, one of Austria’s most attractive summer vacation areas. Students are accommodated in high-standard single and double rooms at the program’s beautiful summer campus on the shore of Lake Wolfgang.

The 4 week Sommerhochschule European Studies program consists of two, two-week sessions, between July and August (dates to be confirmed for 2025). Six European Studies courses are offered during the first session and six during the second session. You can choose from courses in law, politics, economics, history, cultural studies, and German.

1. Dates, Costs and Funding

The programme fee listed here was for the University of Vienna Summer Summer in 2024.  The programme fee for 2025 will be updated here when the information is available. 

 

Programme fee for 4 weeks is £2,100 which includes:

  • Registration
  • Non-refundable registration fee of 450 euros
  • Tuition for the four week program - students can attend four courses
  • Use of all campus facilities (e.g. library, study room, computer room, WLAN, Bürglhaus bar, Sehausstüberl, etc.)
  • Handouts, scripts and other relevant teaching material
  • Use of all sports and recreational facilities (students’ boathouse on the lake, the sports hall, and the table tennis equipment) and participation on the sports program (volleyball and windsurfing lessons, organized ball games and tournaments, and mountain hikes)
  • All planned excursions

 

Not included in the programme fee:

  • Flights
  • Accommodation and full board for the four weeks.
  • Mandatory Austrian students' union fee

Student may need to pay additional costs which are not outlined above.
