What is Advance HE fellowship?

Holding Advance HE fellowship is a formal recognition that your professional practice meets the requirements of the Professional Standards Framework 2023. 

The Framework provides four categories of fellowship according to your role in teaching and/or supporting higher education learning. 

Why is Advance HE Fellowship Important? 

Being an Advance HE fellow in any category has a number of benefits. These include: 

  • Provides a valuable measure of success, recognised across the UK and is increasingly recognised by international institutions; 
  • Demonstrates your commitment and contribution to teaching, learning and the student experience through reflection, research and development 
  • Demonstrates that your professional practice is aligned with the PSF 2023
  • An indication of professional identity for HE practitioners, including the entitlement to use post-nominal letters (AFHEA, FHEA, SFHEA or PFHEA)
