Compliance status
Infonetica is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non accessible content
Swansea University is committed to sustain the Level AA accessibility. The following information explains any areas of Infonetica that to our knowledge are not conformant and what we're doing to make that happen.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The internal audit evaluated sample content within Infonetica and the following criteria were found to be non-compliant.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships
Headings
Multiple pages have missing heading levels. Headings are used for structure and provide assistive technology users a way to navigate the page based on hierarchy so this may impact a variety of users.
Tables
Data tables appear to be marked up using table headers as required but when tested do not announce table cell data in context.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 1.3.4 Orientation
Cropped content on portrait and landscape views
When rotated on a phone or tablet content is cropped and requires horizontal and vertical scrolling. The problem is combined with a lack of content reflow impacts on both orientations (landscape and portrait) and when zoomed. This impacts on the general usability of the website in anything other than a desktop view at 100% zoom.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 1.4.1 Use of Color
Errors only identified by red or green text
Critical errors are shown by only color alone on the "Work Area" and "Project Folders" with no other visual cue.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)
Blue Text Issues
The website uses blue text throughout the site which fails color contrast ratio checks.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 1.4.10 Reflow
Content does not reflow and crops
Content does not reflow and requires scrolling in two dimensions to use all functionality with content cropped multiple times on a screen.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 2.1.1 Keyboard
ReciteMe
The menu bar features an embedded accessibility tool called ReciteMe that gives users access to additional tools designed to support people with disabilities. Unfortunately, this is currently not focusable using for keyboard-only users.
Datepicker
The date picker is only available to mouse users. No date can be selected by keyboard-only users as the input field can only be updated by the date picker.
WCAG 2.1 success criterion: 4.1.1 Parsing
At the time of testing. The code could not be put through a WS3 validation tool.
