Natural Products BioHUB exhibits at the Swansea Start-Up Expo and Conference!
As part of the ‘Swansea Start-up Expo’ organised by the 4theRegion, a two-day Expo and Conference was held at the Swansea Arena, from 06-07 March 2024. The event urged key organisations to offer attendees a wide range of advice, support, and expertise to start a business in Swansea Bay, attracting 350 prospective entrepreneurs.
On day one, more than 20 exhibitors from various research organisations were set up to provide opportunities to attendees to network, seek advice from businesses and to hear from local entrepreneurs. Over 80 inspiring young students, entrepreneurs and members from the general public visited the Natural Products BioHUB stall.
Dr. Syed Farooq Shah, Project Manager, Natural Products BioHUB briefed the visitors and held a series of meetings with local civic bodies and startups and shared information on the support provided by the NP BioHUB to start-ups. Short snippets from these discussions also aired on national television channels.
On day two of the Expo about 50 members of the general public, 8 researchers from various organizations, 3 civic bodies, 25 students and 11 start-up entrepreneurs visited the the Natural Products BioHUB stall. Alongside speaking about our upcoming IPM conference in September, we informed the attendees about the advantages to working with the NP BioHUB including; academic insights, lab access and networking opportunitie with others within the same sector.
