Swansea University aims to provide a contemporary and practical legal education for our students. Therefore, our industry links are extremely important, and over the years we have worked hard to develop close relationships with key members of the industry.
One of these is Ince, the renowned international law firm. The Ince Prize is awarded to the Swansea LLM student who achieves the highest mark in Part 1 of their studies. Competition was tough, but this year, the winner was clear; Mr Filippos Alexandrakis.
Filippos was presented the award by the firm’s joint managing partner, Mr Michael Volikas. He is a graduate of the Law School of Athens, and completed an LLM in Maritime Law at the same University with distinction. The prize itself consists of a cash sum of £500 and an internship opportunity in Ince’s Piraeus office.
Speaking after the event, Professor Barış Soyer, the Director of Shipping & Trade, said:
“The prize is well deserved and we know that Filippos will do Swansea University proud at his internship. We are also grateful to Ince for their continuing support of Swansea and their investment in our promising young graduates."
