Professor Andrew James Davies, Director of the Centre for Research into Practice, has been appointed as a Council Member and Trustee of the British Educational Research Association (BERA).

With over 2,500 members, BERA is the UK's leading educational research professional association and learned society. It supports the work of the educational research community across the UK and internationally, by building research capacity, and through promoting, supporting, funding and publishing high-quality research. BERA also provides opportunities for researchers to meet and collaborate through events, the annual BERA conference and its Special Interest Groups.

Speaking of this appointment, Professor Davies said, ‘BERA has been an ever-present source of support, guidance and professional community for me through my career as an educational researcher. It’s a privilege to take on this role, and to give something back.’

Professor Davies took up this role in September 2024 for a period of four years.
