BUCS Wednesdays are Back in Full Swing!

After a quiet few months on campus, we’re excited to announce that BUCS Wednesdays are back, and Sport Swansea is ready for another thrilling year of action!

Kicking things off, the Men’s Rugby 1st team opened their season against Cardiff Met, putting up a strong fight in front of a packed home crowd. Though the match ended 34-24 in Cardiff’s favour, our team bounced back in style with an impressive 34-14 victory against Leeds Beckett. What a comeback!

Last week marked the official return of all sports, and Swansea Bay Sports Park has been buzzing with energy ever since! With top-notch performances across the board, our teams are setting the bar high.

🎉 Some standout victories include:
🏀 Men’s Basketball edging out Bath with a thrilling 82-76 win.
🎾 Women’s Tennis smashing UWE 5-1.
🏐 Netball pulling off a nail-biting 42-40 win over UWE.
💪 And Men’s Squash sweeping Aberystwyth 5-0!

A huge shoutout goes to our Surf Club, who travelled to Newquay, Cornwall, for the annual BUCS Surf Weekend competition. The men’s team came in 2nd overall, and a special congratulations to Ollie Evans, who stole the spotlight with an individual win and an impressive score of 18.06 out of 20! Incredible work, Ollie!

This week, our Netball 4’s claimed a narrow 33-31 victory over Aberystwyth 1’s, while the Netball 1st team secured a strong 54-35 win against Cardiff 2’s.

Our Men’s and Women’s Tennis 1st teams both triumphed over Cardiff Met with commanding 5-1 wins. And over at Fairwood, the Men’s Lacrosse 1st team played a stellar match, beating Exeter 9-2!

With such a strong start to the season, it’s safe to say that Sport Swansea is back, and we’re ready for an unforgettable year of competition! 💚🖤
