Why Swansea?
Having resided in Cornwall, I have always harboured a desire for a bustling city life while still having the opportunity to explore rural regions. My passion for animals and the natural world led me to pursue a degree in Zoology, and Swansea offered the perfect blend of urban living and coastal escapes. My top three go-to destinations include Three Cliffs for breathtaking scenery, Jack's Nightclub for lively nights out, and Brynmill Park for a tranquil reading retreat.

In selecting a university for my studies, I was specifically looking for one that provided easy access to natural surroundings, strong ties to industries, opportunities to observe diverse wildlife, and the ability to travel. Fortunately, Swansea met these criteria perfectly. It offered proximity to the Gower Peninsula and the stunning Singleton Park, home to various bird and waterfowl species. Additionally, the university had established partnerships with organisations like “Project Seagrass,” enhancing my exposure to different ecosystems. I have had the chance to encounter various creatures such as otters, bats, and insects, and I am looking forward to my upcoming expedition to Borneo.

Swansea has been the ideal choice for me to delve into the natural wonders of the UK and beyond. From encountering mesmerising otters and bat species in Stackpole to collaborating with the conservation group "Project Seagrass" on the Isle of Wight, my exploration has been both enriching and rewarding. As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming Borneo trip, I reflect on the standout moments of my academic journey, particularly the invaluable connections forged with fellow scholars and the impactful experiences at "Project Seagrass." Post-graduation, my aspirations lie in the realm of science communication, inspired by my passion for educating and engaging audiences on conservation issues.

For those seeking a university that offers a vibrant student life, urban amenities, access to nature, and promising career prospects, I wholeheartedly endorse Swansea. My time here has been marked by personal growth, notable achievements such as collaborating with a celebrity for conservation efforts, and even completing the Swansea Half Marathon. Don't hesitate - embark on your Swansea journey now!

Involvement in Sports and Societies
Yes, I joined the Scuba Diving and Conservation Society and became a social media ambassador for the university.

Work Placement (Year in Industry)
For my year in industry, I worked for the conservation charity “Project Seagrass”. Our goal is to protect and preserve seagrass meadows worldwide. I participated in various fieldwork activities, including snorkelling to seagrass meadows in the UK and collecting seeds for future planting. I also organised and planned a major Virtual Reality (VR) project, (filming and producing), managing a major celebrity voiceover for it.

Living in Halls
I stayed in Langland during my first year and in Rhossili for a summer placement. Both experiences were incredible, filled with memorable moments and plenty of laughs.
