What are your favourite things about Swansea?
It’s great as a student in terms of cost of living and everyone is so lovely and willing to help you! The beach is beautiful, especially in the mornings on my bus ride to campus.
Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?
I really enjoy lab work, but I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do in the future. I really like my course as it provides me with the flexibility to study different and broad topics. There’s also a lot of employability help too, which has helped reassure me about my future!
What is your favourite thing about your course?
The lecturers are all really passionate about what they teach which makes lectures really entertaining, but they are also really approachable if I don’t understand something.
What are you planning/hoping to do after you graduate?
I hope to continue down the biochemical route, whether that’s in a PhD or in industry!
Do you participate in a Swansea University sports team/club?
I play netball intramurally, and I am also the Social Secretary of Biochemistry and Genetics Society. Both societies are great and have been very welcoming!
Would you recommend Swansea University to other students?
I think the amount of support available at Swansea is unparalleled compared to other universities. From the lecturers to your personal Academic Mentor, it really does feel like everyone is in your corner and wants you to do the best you can. Also, the beach is great!
