Sustainable workshops at the Go Green Fair

Huge success for Go Green Week’s 2nd year at Swansea University

There were more than 30 events spread across the week of April 22nd to 26th, with our main event, Go Green Fair featuring over 35 stalls, workshops, climate research and local charities, featured alongside Goleudy’s community fridge event, live Fairtrade sculpture build and fantastic willow weaving sessions!

We had live music, free vegan food and a plethora of other activities and workshops open to students, staff and the local community to get involved with throughout the day. We partnered with over 25 internal and external companies and departments to deliver Go Green Week for our university and local community, which included a raised bed building workshop with Room to Grow, where we built 20 beds in one day outside Fulton House! Students were able to reserve a bed at the time of the event for their own front gardens, helping them to grow their own food and learn about the environment at the same time.

We closed Go Green Week with Iolo Williams and Mary Gagen at the Taliesin Arts Theatre with the ‘What Would Nature Do’ debate, which attracted a packed audience; it was a fantastic way to pull the curtain down on a hugely successful week.

We’d like to thank everyone who partnered, supported, got involved and attended!

Despite Go Green Week being over, you can still Get Involved with Sustainability at Swansea University. Head to our Eventbrite to discover what’s happening on campus!
