Group of people walking on bay campus beach

Our Sustainability team joined forces with a host of departments and local businesses to inspire staff, students, and the local community to be more sustainable.

The week-long occasion included over 21 sustainable events from nature walks and beach cleans to basket weaving and climate change talks, 2 Green Fairs with 36 stalls, and a beach clean exhibition showing the weird and wonderful items the team have picked up from Bay Campus beach.

During the week, attendees could also make a ‘Green Pledge’- something that they could do to make their personal or professional lives more sustainable and reduce their personal carbon footprint. We collected almost 400 Green Pledges from staff, students, and members of the community during Go Green Week, which included simple acts such as increasing recycling rates and decreasing meat consumption, to bigger commitments like installing a microplastic filter in washing machines!

Despite Go Green Week being over, you can still Get Involved in Sustainability at Swansea University. Head to our Eventbrite page to discover what’s happening on campus!
