About The Role

This is a Fixed Term role until March 2026 working 21 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be based in a thriving mental health research team with over £40M in joint funding over the last five years and a portfolio of projects.  The team is led by Prof. Ann John and focuses on child and adolescent mental health and suicide and self-harm prevention. Prof. Ann John leads the Data Science theme in the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health and the Suicide Information Database-Cymru and is a Principal Investigator of the National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH). Prof. Ann is also co-Director of DATAMIND, the Health Data Research UK Hub for Mental Health which has successfully secured funding for a further 5 years. She also co-leads the Data and Digital theme of the Mental Health Mission that aims at enabling data and digital technologies to be used efficiently and consistently in the development and evaluation of new treatments for mental health disorders.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team to work closely with the Project Manager and Prof. Ann John in managing the portfolio of projects within the team. The successful applicant will work alongside internal and external stakeholders, including people with lived experience and data scientists to ensure all projects deliver their KPIs within the agreed timescales and budgets.

The post-holder will have experience and knowledge in project delivery, ideally within the field of Mental Health research, monitoring budgets and forecasting and project planning.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
