About The Role

This is a Fixed Term role for 12 months working full-time

The Disease Registers Group (DRG) are part Population Data Science within Swansea University Medical School. The DRG maintains and operates several exemplar chronic disease registers. The group works with organisations including the NHS, other Universities, Medical research charities, the pharmaceutical industry and directly with people affected by the conditions. The DRG has a track record of delivering complex projects with and to a diverse range of stakeholders.

The DRG has a brief to design, develop operate and maintain chronic disease registers that capture clinical information and data directly from people affected by the disease. That data is then linked and placed in a Trusted Research Environment where it can be queried, subject to suitable governance by accredited researchers.

The DRG maintain the access and analysis pipelines for these environments and as such spend significant time meeting with stakeholders, maintaining software, integrations and analysis tools.

The purpose of the role is to assist the DRG team to effectively manage the administrative aspects of their day-to-day activities. The post holder will maintain, manage and facilitate a variety of DRG related groups. Organise and administrate activities such as user-based support, knowledge communication sessions, and provide administrative assistance across the DRG.

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
