Hannaford Turner LLP is a fast growing and dynamic law firm, which specialises in ships, assets and commodities.
The firm has recently recruited an exciting litigation team, and since 2019, they have sponsored a prize that’s awarded to the best performing LLM student on Swansea’s Ship and Other Mobile Assets Finance module.
As well as a cash award, this prize provides the winning student with invaluable insight into this niche and exciting area of practice via an internship that is undertaken in the firm’s London offices.
This year's winner was Dilşad Göktan. Dilşad is a qualified lawyer from Turkey and is currently studying on the LLM in International Commercial and Maritime Law programme. The award was presented in London to Dilşad by the founding partner of the firm, Mr Matt Hannaford, at a dinner hosted by the firm, which was attended by Dilşad, Professor Barış Soyer and several trainees from the firm.
Speaking after the dinner, the Director of the IISTL, Professor Soyer, commented:
