PGCE English Senior Lecturer & PGCE Secondary Programme Director, Dr Angella Cooze has recently been the winning recipient of an Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award.
These student-initiated awards are to recognise and celebrate excellent teaching and are highly respected across the University.
A panel consisting of the Head of SALT, Director of Faculty Operations, and numerous Professors from across the university received submissions from students nominating Angella for the award.
The nominating students had this to say of Angella’s quality of teaching:
"Angella is the perfect PGCE lecturer as her teaching is naturally inspiring. She passes this on to her cohort of teachers, her enthusiasm and passion for education is infectious.“
"She personally includes every student within her lecture and makes the whole group feel like a big learning family.“
"Angella has a way of making PGCE training THE most exciting and liberating course you could be on.
On receiving this well-deserved accolade, Angella said:
“Receiving this award based on the nominations of our fantastic students is a real honour. I am extremely proud of our PGCE programme and students; to be nominated by them, as they progress on their own teaching journeys through the programme and into the profession, is very rewarding. I feel very lucky to have been a part of their progress and am delighted to be recognised by them in this award for excellence in teaching.”
