When I discovered that Swansea University offered courses with a "Year in Industry," I was immediately drawn to it, along with the University’s impressive employability figures. Additionally, I was excited by the extensive support available for Welsh-speaking students.

My experience studying through the medium of Welsh has been fantastic—not only in written work but also in practical tasks like filming, presenting, and recording! During my fourth year, I began an internship with Swansea Sport, one of the University’s partners, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to study through the medium of Welsh, which has also allowed me to gain valuable work experience with Welsh companies. Swansea University offers a wealth of support for Welsh-speaking students, from personal Welsh tutors to dedicated Welsh-speaking accommodation on both campuses. Being a Welsh speaker has opened up incredible opportunities for me, including recording podcasts, working with the BBC, and receiving a financial scholarship for studying in Welsh.

My advice to any prospective student is to make the most of every opportunity the University offers. Swansea provides outstanding support and unforgettable experiences—you won’t regret it!
