Why did you choose to study your degree at Swansea?
The facilities are first class, the staff were friendly on the open day and there were great opportunities to work with elite sports teams alongside my studies.
What is your favourite thing about your course?
I have enjoyed the content covered in my chosen modules and have always found the lecturers engaging. The course has also given me opportunities to gain experience alongside my studies, working with professional teams such as Swim Wales and Scarlets Rugby.
How have you found studying during the pandemic?
Challenging, but the lectures were helpful in supporting me through my studies with online lectures and Zoom calls.
What are you planning/hoping to do after you graduate?
I am hoping to continue my studies and do a masters in Sports Medicine at Exeter University.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other students? Why?
Yes, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Swansea University to anyone considering it. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will be sad to leave.
Are you/have you been part of a society?
Yes, I am a member of the Sport & Exercise Science Society and the Aerospace Society. As an academic student led society, the SPEX Society has allowed me to meet students across all years of the course, sharing our interest and passion for sports science through social opportunities.
Have you lived in halls during your studies?
Yes, I lived in the Bay Campus university halls in my first year as a student in Swansea. The accommodation was excellent. Sharing a house with 10 others, studying engineering and business disciplines there was never a dull moment!! This provided me with a great opportunity to make friends and housemates for my second year.
Have you worked part-time during your degree?
Yes, I was fortunate to secure a coaching internship with Scarlets Rugby that led to temporary employment. Providing me with opportunities to develop my coaching skills, organise pitch set up (even on match days!), dress up as Cochyn the Dragon (the team mascot) and referee matches.
